The Elite Sports Scholarship Rhine-Neckar Metropolitan Region supports athletes in their balancing act between studies and top-class sports during the course of their dual career. Top athletes find it particularly difficult to complete their studies due to the time and effort they spend on training and competitions. However, it is precisely they who are capable of top performance in academic professions due to their experience in sports.
Whether it's artistic cycling, field hockey, inline speed skating or soccer, our sports scholarship is open to applications from anyonewho is studying, would like to study or is doing a doctorate at the Universities of Heidelberg and Mannheim or at the Mannheim Business School.
The Elite Sports Scholarship helps the athletes to coordinate their daily routine and makes it easier for them through direct contact persons (dual career advisors), who can mediate between athletes and professors when seminar or exam dates collide with important training camps or competitions.

"I train 16 to 30 hours a week, depending on the training phase - sometimes even more. Studying on top of that is super exhausting. But the Sports Scholarship lightens the burden on a lot of things for me. Especially the extra tutorials we get make many things easier."
(Jannik Abbou (19), Mountainbike Downhill, Bachelor of Business Education, University of Mannheim)
"We as scholarship holders of the Elite Sports Scholarship Rhine-Neckar Metropolitan Region are all students and athletes who strive for maximum success in studies and sports. Through the diverse individual and regional support that we scholarship holders receive, the balancing act between studies and sports becomes much smaller.
